My Mother’s 104th birthday

My Mother’s 104th birthday

Yesterday would have been my mother’s 104th birthday, regrettably she only made it to 80 years. Last Monday would have been my father’s 106th birthday, he only managed 70 years. Amazingly, my mother’s younger sister, Elinka, has managed to make it to 102!

Each time I visit her I am amazed, not just at her longevity but her many skills and perseverance. She only gave up catching the bus to her garden patch, a strip about the size of one-third of a normal building block in Melbourne, some 3 years ago.
